PROBLEM: VALIDATING AIR NETWORK TO SUPPORT EXPRESS DELIVERY
LGSTX started a pilot test program for ramp, warehouse, and line service operations utilizing three B767-200 aircraft at KILN. Success in this program would allow expansion of their air network to additional stations and a larger fleet size.
SOLUTION:
The LGSTX team supported an average of 41 flights per day with an outbound on-time rate of 99.45%. Additionally they managed 278 trucks inbound and 250 trucks outbound daily with an on-time rate of 98.80%. As a single point of contact for communication and vendor management, the design, implementation and execution of this model proved efficient and cost effective.
